Soccer Season

The kids have started soccer for the fall, and this year Ellie was able to sign up as well. She was very excited to be doing it with Carver (even though they're not on the same team), and she is doing very well. Their first game was last Saturday, and they have another tomorrow.

Fun! Keith and I have just started talking what organized activities we wanted to get Evangeline into when she's 3 or 4. Soccer is on the list now!

Those are great pictures! Derek's very keen on the kids playing soccer...and I've toyed around with doing spring soccer after Tommy turns 4. In any case, how do you like being a "soccer mom"? =)

Do I see on the tshirts that the kids are doing Upward soccer? That's cool!

We like soccer, for now anyway. I don't know what it's like as kids get older, but it's just the right pace for these guys. We do do Upward. Bloomington has two soccer leagues, and the other one is much more intense. Upward is pretty laid back, and we like that. The downside is that their basic motto (if unspoken), is that 'everyone's a winner.' That means all the kids play equal amounts of time, in rotations. While that works for littler kids, I think as they get older, we're going to be looking for a league where excellence and hard work are a little more emphasized.
